Centers of Excellence

The Germano de Sousa Center for Laboratory Medicine is organized into different areas of specialization; it is a laboratory guided by innovation, quality, and precision. It has consistently sought to remain at the forefront of laboratory diagnostics. In doing so, it has employed the most advanced methodologies to ensure the continuous improvement and development of its centers of excellence.

Each area has a designated physician in charge, including the Laboratory of Immunology, Immunopathology, Autoimmunity, and Immunoserology; the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Pathology; the Hematology and Hemostasis Laboratory, the Laboratory Hemato-Oncology Unit, the Flow Cytometry Unit, the Microbiology, Mycobacteriology, and Clinical Parasitology Laboratory, and the Chemical Pathology Laboratory.

The laboratory is fully computerized, making it possible to monitor all stages of the process.

Serums that tested positive are stored in the serum bank for 1 year.
