Get your clinical tests done in the comfort of your own home, with Germano de Sousa quality
The Germano de Sousa Group’s at-home clinical testing service is available nationwide, from north to south, to everyone—especially the elderly, pregnant women, and/or people with limited mobility.
This home service is available Monday through Saturday, at specific times to be arranged, subject to the availability of the home service teams.
For everyone's safety, our technicians will be properly equipped and protected during their home visits.

What is the procedure?
To schedule your home collections, simply do the following:
1 - Scheduling
You can make an appointment by phone or use the appointment form
2 - Your information
When you make your appointment, you will be asked to provide personal information and details about the tests to be performed
3 - Preparation
When you schedule your appointment, you will be informed of the requirements for the tests.
4 - Results
After your sample is collected at home, you can receive your results in digital format.

Clinical Laboratory Tests

Harmony® Prenatal Screening Test
Harmony - The latest advance in prenatal screening, now available in Portugal at the Germano de Sousa Group Laboratories.
Harmony represents the greatest advance in the field of non-invasive prenatal testing for screening for the three main trisomies (T21, 18, 13) and aneuploidies related to the sex chromosomes (X and Y).
It is performed in a SIMPLE and SAFE manner using a sample of maternal peripheral blood, and provides results with a high degree of ACCURACY.
Harmony uses a technology (DANSR™) that analyzes fragments of cell-free fetal DNA circulating in the mother’s blood; this direct analysis method is what gives the test its high accuracy and reliability as a screening test.
Genetic Testing
The Genetics Laboratory at the Germano de Sousa Center for Laboratory Medicine meets the growing demand in the fields of genetic diagnosis and genomics with high-quality services, ensuring excellence in the care of its patients.
It is composed of a team of highly specialized professionals and is equipped with the latest technology necessary for an appropriate, rapid, and precise response—all of which are essential in the era of personalized medicine.
It combines cutting-edge technology with compliance with the latest laws in effect in the field of Laboratory Genetic Diagnostics.
COVID-19 Testing
Antigen tests, developed for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2, are tests that detect specific proteins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus produced by the replicating virus in the respiratory tract.
The collection is performed by inserting a sterile swab (long cotton swab) into the patient's nose using a specific procedure. We refer to this biological material as nasopharyngeal exudate.
In Portugal, rapid antigen tests (RATs) are accepted if they meet performance standards with a sensitivity of 90% or higher and a specificity of 97% or higher.
The TRAg test performed in the Germano de Sousa Group’s laboratories uses immunochromatography technology, with 96.7% sensitivity and 99.2% specificity.
What are the procedures for paying for this service?
Payment can be made directly to the technician, at an ATM, in cash, via Mbway, or in advance by bank transfer.
Results will only be made available after proof of payment has been provided.

If the necessary requirements are met, the tests are billed according to the health insurance plan to which the patient belongs.
The cost of the home service varies depending on the location and the type of tests requested.
