Toshiba announces a new technology based on liquid biopsy. This new technology, which will undergo intensive testing throughout 2020, analyzes ribonucleic acid molecules present in the blood—known as micro-RNA—and, once validated, will be used for the early detection of cancer.
Liquid biopsy is already a reality at the Germano de Sousa Center for Laboratory Medicine. Through this procedure, which allows non-invasive access to the tumor’s genetic material by analyzing DNA and RNA, we provide valuable information to oncologists to aid in their therapeutic decision-making.
